I'm going to be placing the story in Finland for a multitude of reasons, but one of the main reasons being its beauty and cultures.
Having researched them for quite awhile, I've decided to go with the Saami people of the Sápmi region of Scandinavia. The Saami are the only recognived indigenous people in Europe. As there are several different groups within the Saami culture, I'll probably stick with the Inari Saami as, today at least, live solely in Finland.
