Week 6 - Costumes

This week's homework: 

• Create a Sci-Fi themed character using a character generator
• Come up with a page of possible costumes for said character
• Front & Back view of final character & outfit

Teingin is a gal who lives on an Earth-like planet's experimental science colony where there are multiple species living together in massive geodesic domes. Flora from all over the reachable galaxies are housed in one of the larger domes, and that is where Teingin works as a xenobotanist. 

Her favorites include mostly carnivorous plants and anything with yellow or blue flowers.

Week 5 - B&W Environments

Here's 18 environments for class.
All B&W, using the lasso tool and watercolor. There was a set of light houses, and then just some environments with something i liked it each.

I'm "meh" about them.

Week 4 - Facial Expressions

The description I got this week was an older (+45 years) Victorian dancer. I chose to go with a 52 year old ballerina/ballet teacher.

She turned out well! I wanted to make a finished burlesque/"breech role" costume for her, but time didn't allow me to factor that part in. Eventually I'll make the breech role final and expressions sheet for her.

Week 3 - 1 Character, 3 Styles

Here's the finished products of my One Character, 3 Styles assignment. We were given a random occupation, location, and sex to draw. I got a male space reporter, so here he is in my style, Gravity Falls, and Wind Waker.

Here is my Inspiration Board for the two styles.

I did a little bit of costume designing before I actually came up with the character.

Then I added some colors to the outfits that had palettes made from nebula and galaxies. The first batch has a dull color scheme applied.

This bunch has a more vibrant color scheme. I ended up going with the 3rd design.

 And here is the final product!

Rory Hobbes has been relatively new to the reporting scene on the diversely-populated space station, Caldai. Many types of species coexist together there, and it is a great center of commerce. That being said, there is also plenty of corruption within the station's walls.

Rory finds himself between difficult situations as his novice status brings him into contact with many of the officials in charge of the increasing crookedness. Having caused trouble in the past, many of the senior reports are not even allowed in the officials' vicinity. It is with this that brings Rory into play as he overhears exactly what is going on behind the scenes of his peaceful home. The question of whether to brave the dangers of unveiling the evidence or looking the other way for his family's safety.
