Final Project WIP

FINAL PROJECT TIME WE WE SO EXCITED

Brief Summary:

A ten year old girl named Belbadear is walking home from school one day and discovers a human skull hidden in some leaves. She's a lonely girl who is kind of an odd ball; at school she doesn't really have any friends. The skull looks kind of cute and sweet. Belbadear names it Yorrick and takes it home.

Not long after its initial night in her home, something in the skull starts whispering to Belbadear. It needs to get its body back, and only she can help find the pieces. She clings onto this new friend, no matter how strange, and agrees to help Yorrick. A triangular necklace appears, and with it, she helps find bones and strange items in order to restore her friend's body.

During this search, two mysterious figures reveal themselves to Belbadear and Yorrick. One is a strange looking man with cloven feet and nubby little horns, and the other is a woman who appears very pregnant but is actually a deity called The All & Every. They come from the same realm as Yorrick, and eventually join the two friends in their journey.


**I don't want to ruin the story's end and plotline just yet, so you'll just have to wait.

Week 6 - Costumes

This week's homework: 

• Create a Sci-Fi themed character using a character generator
• Come up with a page of possible costumes for said character
• Front & Back view of final character & outfit

Teingin is a gal who lives on an Earth-like planet's experimental science colony where there are multiple species living together in massive geodesic domes. Flora from all over the reachable galaxies are housed in one of the larger domes, and that is where Teingin works as a xenobotanist. 

Her favorites include mostly carnivorous plants and anything with yellow or blue flowers.

Week 4 - Facial Expressions

The description I got this week was an older (+45 years) Victorian dancer. I chose to go with a 52 year old ballerina/ballet teacher.

She turned out well! I wanted to make a finished burlesque/"breech role" costume for her, but time didn't allow me to factor that part in. Eventually I'll make the breech role final and expressions sheet for her.

Here's some more random bits from the last couple weeks in my current sketchbook:

Part of a storyboard. Apparently blogspot hates me since I can't seem to flip these pictures to their original position...wtf?

Weird how those last few won't freakin' flip over! They're saved to my computer horizontally, so I have no idea. Anyways, you get the jist.

As I said in the title, there will be new comics starting again this upcoming Monday.

To tide you over for awahile

I'll be going on a short break with comics for the next couple of weeks while I finish some projects for my school's student show, and I'm starting to feel run down by everything. I'll at least get back to 2 comics a week by either the 2nd or 3rd week of April. Until then, I'll try to put up some drawings I do throughout the days. My printer is on the fritz, so they're taken with my phone, but the quality is still pretty good.

Meet today's monstrosity! The body of a decapitated Ocarina Link action figure, the head of a cupcake candle, a leaf post-it note used for a sword and cape. WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE.
